Naks! Dramatic!

Walang kabuluhang "regret letter"

Because we received so many qualified candidates, we were able to be quite selective in our consideration. Unfortunately, you have some combination of the following reasons which led us to disqualify you for consideration:
H-1B visa requirements
Insufficient training or education compared to other candidates
Salary requirements outside the range for this position

Ano?!??! H-1B?? Green card holder naman ako...
Salary requirements?! Eh sa previous correspondence, eto ang daloy:

Ako: I am expecting the salary to fall in the $**,*** - **,*** [sinadya kong alisin :D ] range and I'm willing to negotiate.

Siya: This is within the pay range we are expecting for this position.

Hehe!

Change of language

Naku, baka mabasa to ng mga recruiter/HR people at makasira pa to ng chances ko. Para di nila ma-intindihan, magFilipino muna tayo =)

Rejected!

I applied for an Associate Systems Administrator position in a San Francisco based company and got my interview on January 27. I received an email last week telling me that the decision would be on Friday. I didn't receive it so this morning, I sent a follow up letter and got my reply:

After careful review, we have concluded that we are unable at this time to offer you a position commensurate with your skills and experience. However,we will keep your information on file against future openings.

Too bad...Well, that's life!

Blog fulltime!

It has been exactly four months since I last posted a blog! I think I'm ready to blog full time now after seeing other blogsites. It's nice to know other people's insights.

I made lots of technical stuff just to get here--first, I uploaded a blogsite pic to the UP Baguio webserver (thanks Manong Cris for chmod-ing my public_html folder), then retrieved my username from blogger.com (silly me! I forgot!), then tried to convert blogger.com's Atom feed to RSS using feedburner.com. To those who don't blog yet: you don't really have to do these to start blogging. I'm just doing it the hard way =)

Masubukan nga mag-blog...
